The Foundation of ADCO
It is truly amazing how ADCO/Grier is growing both as a company and as a team. Having fully engaged superintendents, foremen, PEs, PMs, accounting and preconstruction working and growing together has truly been a daily encouragement. Who would have thought that less than five years ago we were just Ken Grier and Ramiro Velazquez and now we are 225 – 350 employees.
Working at ADCO has been the most exciting and rewarding time of my professional life. The people I work with are just fantastic. We have the rare combination of long-tenured, experienced field personnel who are eager to share their wealth of knowledge with anyone curious enough to ask and with the excitement and passion of new ideas and direction that come with a rapidly growing company.
Hard work and dedication is rewarded at ADCO as we continue to succeed. I have the opportunity to have my ideas heard and tried, as well as be involved with and learn about every aspect of the business, from tactical applications of drywall to construction finance and accounting. The “all hands on deck” approach to problem solving and task completion means we all get to “wear a bunch of different hats.” No two days are the same, which makes working at ADCO an enjoyable challenge.
I would have to say that the best part about working for ADCO is the freedom you have to do your job the way that works best for you and not having the rigid structure that some companies enforce. You are given the opportunity to grow and your ideas are embraced, not just listened to and discarded. I feel like I am valued at ADCO and am more than just an employee.
At ADCO, I feel like an essential part of the team. They make me feel valued, my work is appreciated, and I’m always asked for my ideas and input. ADCO also provides the necessary training for new hires to make sure new employees settle in and don’t feel lost. It’s a comfortable and pleasant work environment, where I’m given the right tools to succeed. Additionally, I have the most wonderful and awesome boss. The company is very attentive to my questions, needs, and provides me with quick assistance when needed.
I enjoy working at ADCO because the company truly values your work. Not many CEOs will come down to the job sites and talk to the workers, but it’ll be 6:00 p.m. and Ken will be out here touring the site and telling us how great a job we’re doing. That’s rare in our industry.
I’m very happy and grateful to be at ADCO. The company takes our safety very seriously and the open communication between workers and supervisors has fostered a strong sense of unity with everyone on the team.
After rapid growth over the past four years, our goal is to expand back into the Southern California market within the next few years, which has the potential to be larger than our current market, as well as offering geographical diversity and continued growth for ADCO Drywall and Metal Framing.
