The Project Manager for ADCO:
- Understands drywall codes, industry standards and typical assemblies
- Understands drywall production rates and proper sequencing
- Is a team builder with track record of training, mentoring and leading a young team
- Has a track record of improving productivity and increasing margins
- Knows how to analyze cost/budget data to identify variances and problem issues.
- Understands the basics of construction accounting including cost codes, billings, collections, and cash flow management.
- Can think creatively to solve problems.
- Has estimated projects including quantity surveying and detailed material pricing for commercial and large multi-family podium residential apartment projects.
- Has prepared detailed and accurate budgets and SOV’s.
Key Skills/Traits/Job Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Word, Excel, On Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid and Adobe Acrobat
- Is well organized and manages his/her time efficiently
- Spanish is a plus
- Strong sense of urgency
- “Whatever it takes” attitude
- Self-starter
- Has a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the construction industry
- Must be willing to split time between the bay area and our Sacramento office. Stay overnight if necessary.
Responsibilities:
- A PM understands the importance of completing a project based on the scope of work, budgets, and according to the general contractor agreed upon schedule.
- Maintain a current knowledge base of material pricing and applicable code requirements. Properly perform due diligence to be informed about specific issues that may impact a job’s difficulty, such as tight jobsite logistics, additional protection required, extraordinary safety requirements, time of year, wet or dry etc.
- Ensure field operations on assigned projects occur with safety as primary concern, including completion of bi-weekly jobsite safety inspections.
- Manage by planning and budgeting, organizing, controlling, and problem solving to achieve or exceed the goals set for the project. Effectively implement applicable quality control systems relative to specific job requirements.
- Responsible for all project coordination and schedule development including liaison between field, office management and general contractors.
- Ensure all project standards and specifications are achieved and that our customer expectations exceeded.
- Assist with development of project budgets.
- Monitor and manage costs to ensure that jobs come in on time and on budget.
- Ensure that change orders are generated, tracked and executed in a timely manner.
- Assist with collection of accounts receivable as required to ensure timely payment.
