Expected to be completed by the end of June, ADCO is currently funding the reconstruction of Poipet Happy Home’s plumbing system.
Poipet Happy Home is a children’s home located in the border town of Poipet, Cambodia, which currently houses 37 children, 6 staff and 3 volunteers. The orphanage was founded in 2006 by Rose Martinez as one of several children’s homes by the Thailand-based Mercy Ministries Foundation (MMF).
ADCO CEO Ken Grier first met Rose during a ministry trip to Thailand back in 1997 and was amazed by her extensive work in caring for the country’s orphans, serving as a mother to so many children since moving to Thailand in 1979. During his encounter with Rose, Ken asked her if there was anything he could do to help her cause. A firm believer in her faith, Rose responded that God would provide him with an answer. Ken initially sent her a donation to assist with her orphanage, but Rose passed it on to another local orphanage who was in dire need of it at the time.
